AN INTERMEDIATE AND ABOVE WORKSHOP:

 Able to design and create simple projects with minimal guidance; trained on all studio equipment.  Fusers are learning about special firing programs.

Let's make small flowers, leaves, animals and other fun shapes.

This will be a two-segment workshop ON THE SAME DAY. We will be using opal powdered frit mixed with water in silicone molds, which will then be frozen. Firing tickets will be completed at this time and tiles will be prepped for use in the afternoon session. We will take a break until 3:00 PM and return to remove the items from the molds which will then be placed on a 6 x 6 tile prepared with papyrus kiln paper. The tiles will go immediately into the kiln to be fired.

Items needed for this workshop:

* A P-100 Mask. No exceptions.

* Your favorite colors of opal powdered frit (transparent frit doesn't always work as well).  You can purchase at Tucson Stained Glass (club discount available) order from Southwest Art Glass in Phoenix (you will have to order & have shipped to your home as there isn't enough time to wait for the usual monthly club delivery) or possibly obtain at the club swap meet on 8/24 at 12:30.

You could also ask if anyone has any specific colors to share/trade/sell on the Fusing Forum on the club website.

* A small paint brush

* A small needle nosed squirt bottle (available at the GAC store)

* An old electric toothbrush if you have one available.

* A small spoon, such as a baby spoon.

* Silicone molds will be provided or you may use your own.

* 6x6 tile (if you have one) or check ahead in the studio and sign one out.  One tile per student.

* A 6 x 6 sheet of papyrus paper.

* Elmer's glue.

* Safety Items: P-100 Mask (NO Exceptions), Safety glasses, Closed-toe shoes, Band-aids

* Please wear your name badge.

* Bring a firing ticket!
