All Levels Workshop:

No glass cutting is needed for this class. Learn how glass can melt around your kiln fiber design to create patterns on the back of your glass.

Shapes and contours can be created for a 6 x 6 inch piece which can later be slumped into a small plate if you like. Kiln fiber can be overlapped to create additional contouring effects. The fiber has ceramic particles so we will need to use a mask when cutting and handling it. We will also talk about other ways the fiber can be used in glass projects. Handouts will include some pattern ideas but plan to bring your own 5.5 inch by 5.5 inch design.

General supplies to bring to class:

1. 1 6 x 6 square clear

2. 1 6 x 6 square of light transparent  (cherry is too dark)

3. Exacto knife or sharp craft scissors

4. Simple design to it a 5.5 X 5.5 square

5. Some glass if you plan to embellish the front of your piece

6. Fifty cents for a 6 x 6 sq. of 1/8th inch fiber, paid to instructors
