This workshop is for new members only. (You are considered a “new member for 6 months after joining the club.)

You may have seen or heard about a popular project called a “shatter plate”. This is your chance to learn how to make one!

We will be designing a 6”x6” plate using a hammer - yes, a hammer! This technique creates a unique design and gives you a chance to design with embellishments. The instructor will have embellishment materials (dots, stringers, scrap glass, etc.) available for you to use. There will be two firing fees. Please bring $3.00 to cover this cost.

** If you need help ordering your glass from SW Art Glass (SWAG), call Judy at 763.516.1769. You need to order your glass by 5:00 PM, Friday, May 29th. You can also buy your glass at Tucson Stained Glass on Grant Ave.

You MUST have the following supplies for this workshop:

* a 6”x6” sheet of colored opaque COE 96 glass to be the base color of your project

* a 5”x5” sheet (a complimentary color to your base) of opaque COE 96 glass

 * embellishment materials, if you have them

You must always bring the following basic fusing supplies:

* Glass cutting tools: Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Grozers, Nippers, Cutting Surface (Quilt-type mats work best)

* Glues: Elmer’s (clear or white), a needle-nosed bottle with non-aerosol hairspray

* Writing Tools: black Sharpies (fine and regular), pen, pencil

* Other helpful items: tweezers, toothpicks, 12” ruler, a carrying box for projects

* Safety Items: a P-100 mask, safety glasses, closed-toe shoes, band aids

* Bring a firing ticket - firing will cost $3.00. Please bring correct change.
