Workshop Level: Intermediate: Able to design and create simple projects with minimal guidance; trained on all studio equipment. Experience with cutting, grinding, fitting pieces to a pattern, foiling and soldering.

Students will be given the mandela pattern. Pattern will be cut with stained glass scissors. Glass will be cut to the pattern pieces and placed in provided mandela pattern, grinding pieces to fit tight. Students will provide their own tools, foil, flux, solder, push pins, working board and glass. Think of the colors you want for your mandela. The finished piece is around an 11" circle. The center jewel will be provided at a cost of $6.

General supplies to bring to class:

• Glass cutting tools: Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Grozers, Nippers, Cutting Surface, Push pins, Stained Glass Scissors.
• Writing Tools: Black Sharpies (fine and regular), Silver sharpie, Pen or Pencil.
• Other helpful items: A carrying box for project, a heat proof glove or hand size towel, working board.
