This project can be used for display or slumped into a serving dish. If using your project as a display, it will be fired once at a cost of $1.50. If you want to make your project into a serving dish, it will be fired twice (once to fuse and once to slump) at a cost of $3.00.
You must have the following supplies for this workshop:
* a 6”x6” sheet of clear COE 96 sheet glass
* a 6”x6” sheet of black COE 96 sheet glass
* any scrap glass you may have in colors to make flowers and leaves
* any other embellishment materials you have such as dots, stringers, frit, etc. to add to your design.
The instructors will also provide embellishment materials (scrap glass in various colors, dots, stringers, frit) for those who need them.
Please do not depend on our studio store to supply you with the glass you need for workshops. We need you to get accustomed to ordering your glass from Southwest Art Glass (SWAG) or by visiting Tucson Stained Glass at 4444 Grant in Tucson. If you need help ordering from SWAG, feel free to call Judy at 763.516.1769. Your order needs to be completed on line by 5:00 on Friday, March 27th.
General supplies to bring to class:
* Glass cutting tools: Toyo Cutter, Running Pliers, Grozers, Nippers, Cutting Surface (Quilt-type mats work best)
* Glues: Elmer’s (clear or white), Needle nosed bottle with non-aerosol hairspray
* Writing Tools: Black Sharpies (fine and regular), Pen & Pencil
* Other helpful items:Tweezers, Toothpicks, A carrying box for projects
* Safety Items: P-100 Mask, Safety glasses, Closed-toe shoes, Band-aids
* Bring a firing ticket!
