Workshop for NEW MEMBERS ONLY
For new members who are six months or less who are familiar with basic tools and still learning to cut basic shapes and learning basic firing programs.
You may have seen or heard about a popular project called a
"Shatter Plate". This is your chance to learn how to make one!

We will be designing a 6"x6" plate using a hammer - yes, a hammer! This technique creates a unique design and gives you a chance to design with embellishments. The Instructor will have embellishment materials (dots, stringers, scrap glass) available for you to use. There will be two (2) firing fees. Please bring $3.00 to cover this cost. If you need help ordering your glass from SW Art Glass (SWAG), call Judy at 763-516-1769. You need to order SWAG glass by Friday 12/26, or you can buy glass at Tucson Stained Glass on Grant Ave. Tucson.
You must have the following supplies for this workshop:
* A 6"x6" sheet of opalescent COE 96 glass to be the base color of your project.
* A 6"x6" sheet (A complimentary color to your base) of opalescent COE 96 glass.
* Embellishment materials, if you have them.
General supplies to bring to class:
Glass cutting tools: Toyo cutter, Running Pliers, Grozers, Nippers, Cutting Surface (Quilt-type mats work best). Glues- Elmers clear or white, Needle nosed bottle with non-aerosol hairspray Writing tools- Black Sharpies, Pen & Pencil. Other helpful items: Tweezers, Toothpicks, A carrying box for projects. Safety items- P-100 Mask, Safety glasses, Closed toe shoes, Bandaids. Bring a firing ticket-firing will cost $3.00. Please bring correct change.
