ADVANCED LEVEL

This workshop is a new project for the advanced student in stained glass. We will show you how to make and assemble a 3-D Christmas tree. After completed you can insert lights inside and decorate the outside to your liking. We will provide the pattern.

You will need to bring 3 and 1/2 sheets of whatever color glass you want your tree to be such as green, blue, white. Make sure it is not too transparent because you don’t want to be able to see the rod formation through it. You will also need a 6 to 8” x 1/2 “+ thick piece of wood for the base and about 60” of brass rod to be cut up for the foundation of the tree. Something sturdy but not too thick. We will make seven layers of glass tiers.

Bring all of your tools and supplies such as:

• Toyo Cutter
• Running Pliers
• 60/40 solder
• Gel Flux
• Black backed Copper foil and fid
• Black patina
• Flux brush and cup
• Toothbrush and cup
• Rubber gloves
• Carrying box for projects
• Band aids

Remember closed toe shoes and safety glasses are required. Please wear your name badge.

Cancellation Policy: To cancel a workshop, members must submit a cancellation notice to the website calendar administrator at events.gvrgac@gmail.com.

Effective June 1st, 2025, members scheduled for a workshop must cancel their signup at least 48 hours in advance (with exceptions in the event of an emergency). If a member does not show up for a workshop , w/o proper notification given, they will be prohibited from registering for another workshop for 3 months.
