WORKSHOP LEVELS
Registration opens 11/13.
Beginner: First time users! Learn how to safely cut thicker pieces of glass art (ie. pattern bars and scrap bars)
Intermediate and Advanced: If you have attended this class before and you have created more items that need cutting, please feel free to register for a slot of time.
Workshop Location: Ramada
Time slot scheduling: Please schedule yourself in one of the 15 minutes sessions for each scheduled class.
Learn to cut pattern bars (7 layer thick fused glass bars) or scrap boxes (1/2”-3/4” thickness of fused glass)
*Please do not bring unfused single sheet glass or fused glass that is only two layers. Please learn to make these pieces before taking this class.
*This class is considered both an “equipment training class “equipment access opportunity”. Beginners will learn how to safely use the tile saw. We will discuss the basic set up and clean up of the tile saw and demonstrate the safe and efficient use.
For those of you who have taken the class before, this will provide you with the “equipment access” you need to continue to cut more pieces you create.
**The tile saw will only be available during these scheduled, superised times. We are scheduling these training/use times 1 to 2 times a month.
Safety: Please remember to wear close toed shoes, tie long hair back and wear safety goggles and wear ear protection.
General supplies to bring to class:
** Glass art appropriate for cutting on the tile saw: Pattern bars or Scrap bars. NO single sheets of unfused glass or fused pieces less that 3/4” thickness. Thinner pieces can easily be cut on our ring saws in the Cold Room.
