NEW MEMBERS ONLY

This workshop is for new members only.  You are a new member for six months from the date you take the Intro class through GVR.

In this New Member Only workshop you will be designing a snowflake/star using diamond shapes (see pictures). You will be learning how to use the Beetle Bits cutting system to make the diamond shapes. You can make the project to hang or to be a decoration for a 6”x6” plate. If you are going to hang the project, you will need to purchase kiln paper at the front desk during store hours. If you are making a plate you will need to provide the 6”x6” base.

You need to bring the following supplies to this workshop:

• two 1”x12” strips of opal COE 96 glass - the two colors should be complimentary to each other
• 6”x6” kiln paper (if you are going to hang your project)
• one 6”x6” color of opal COE 96 glass to act as the base color for your plate
• cutting tools (Toyo cutter, nippers, grozers, running pliers)
• glue (both Elmers’ & and a needle-tipped bottle of pump hairspray - Suave works well)
• embellishment materials (dots, stringers) - if you have some

The instructors will supply embellishment materials for those who need them.

You will be taking your project to the front desk when finished to pay the firing fee(s).

Wear safety glasses, your name badge and closed toe shoes.

Effective June 1st, members scheduled for a workshop must cancel their signup at least 48 hours in advance (with exceptions in the event of an emergency).  If a member does not show up for a workshop , w/o proper notification given, they will be prohibited from registering for another workshop for 3 months.

Cancellation Policy:  To cancel a workshop, members must submit a cancellation notice to the website calendar administrator at events.gvrgac@gmail.com.  If a member cancels, they will be given a refund if a replacement is found prior to the workshop date.   Refunds will be given for family or medical emergencies.
