  • Sparkling trees using green scrap atop clear glass and decorating with materials to embellish with your choice of decor/colors, etc.

In this workshop you will be designing a sparkling Christmas tree.


You will be making a 4"x7" Christmas tree using a clear triangular base, green and clear scrap for the branches and embellishment materials such as; frit, dots, stringers, and dichro.  All the glass used must be COE 96.

If you would like to purchase a wooden stand for your tree, the cost will be $5, payable to the instructors.

You will need to bring the following supplies to this workshop:

  • 6"x12" sheet of clear glass (for 4"x7" base and clear branches)
  • Green transparent glass (for branches)
  • Your cutting tools (Toyo cutter, running pliers, nippers, grozer)
  • A box for nipping glass
  • Embellishment materials (dots, stringers, scrap, dichro) to decorate your trees 
  • Glues - both Elmers & Needle-tipped bottle with pump hair spray (suave works best)
  • $5 (If buying an optional stand)

We will have some scrap glass, frit, Stringers, and Dots available for a small fee depending on how much you need.

Remember: Safety glasses and closed toe shoes required. Please wear your name tags.

Cancellation Policy:  To cancel a workshop, members must submit a cancellation notice to the website calendar administrator at events.GVRGAC@gmail.com.

Effective June 1st, members scheduled for a workshop must cancel their signup at least 48 hours in advance (with exceptions in the event of an emergency).  If a member does not show up for a workshop , w/o proper notification given, they will be prohibited from registering for another workshop for 3 months.
